The Bible says in Proverbs 11:30 “he that winneth souls is wise”. This is where we get the term “soul-winning” from. Other synonymous terms that Christians use are evangelism or witnessing, however, we prefer the term “soul-winning” because it emphasises the end-goal of our evangelism, that it is not just to get the message out there, but to actually bring people to a decision whereby they place their trust on Christ and get saved, thereby winning their soul to Christ.
“Soul-winning” is typically more focused on reaching an individual one-on-one with the gospel rather than an impersonal strategy of simply handing out tracts or preaching on a street corner.
