The One True Church
The Roman Catholic Church is a false religion and a false church. One thing the Roman Catholic Church teaches is that they are the one true church. In their own writings they say it requires them to make known the worship of the one true religion which subsists in the Catholic and apostolic church.
And yet if you actually read the Bible, you do not see this concept of one true church anywhere. The Bible says in John 14:6, Jesus himself said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus Christ said that he is the truth. And the reality is that a person can believe on Christ and be part of a different type of church. It does not come down to what church you are a part of. It comes down to what you believe about the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the truth. There is no one true or perfect church in the way the Catholic Church is teaching.
In fact, when you go to the book of Revelation in chapters 2 and 3, you see a lot of different churches listed. And with most of the ones listed there, you see both good and bad things about them. They are different churches with different strengths and different weaknesses. But what you are seeing is that even though they are different from one another and even though some of them have real problems, they are all considered legitimate, bonafide churches according to the word of God. The Bible does not present one true church that all others must submit to. It presents multiple local churches, each with their own character, each accountable to the Lord Jesus Christ as their chief Shepherd.
As a Baptist, I do not believe that Baptists are the one true church. I do not believe that my church or the churches I pastor are perfect. There is no biblical concept of one true church on earth. The truth is found in a person — the Lord Jesus Christ — not in an organisation headquartered in Rome.
What the Roman Catholic Church teaches on this is false. And therefore they are a false religion and a false church.
